061031.Combe Down, Trick or Treat!

They don’t like the modern American version of just taking the candy and doing
nothing…you had to do the Trick part–sing for your supper or do something. The Brits aren’t impressed with just giving away candy for nothing. I like that.” (Thanks BR)
Below is the only Halloween image I was able to capture when I went out at night. The homeowners had just put it out and when they saw me snooping around they didn’t close the door until I left. I imagine people will come out later at night (It was only 6 when I took the picture).

It finally came to me that this picture made me think of Gormenghast with Steerpike leading the Simple Sisters Clarice and Cora. It took the longest time to connect it, though.

Is that a cutlass she’s wielding? Well, that’ll get the manor plundered in no time!

I’m glad the home owners did call the police on you. You could have claimed to be dressed up as paparazzi.

That pumpkin shot could be a postcard! Beautiful exposure!

Great Hween shots, James. We had a terrific sunset here in Southbury (once a great pumpkin patch not so long ago) with little kids marching all around town in their cute outfits. I agree with the Brits that anyone who goes out to trick or treat has to do something to get a treat: song, dance, stunt whatever.
Will kids light fireworks for Guy Fawkes Day this Sunday? Or set bonfires? Get those shots.
Cheers,
Adriane
