So, uh, where do you want to go, up, down or through Beckford’s Tower.

This reminded me of the way older homes in America were constructed. Under the stairway would be a door. You opened the door and it was a clothes closet. Front doors opened to show the stairway, like this one, then you took off your coat and the maid (if you had one) would take your coat and hang it in the closet. I thought that is what this is. I guess not.

You say this is halfway up the staircase. So the tower is that much wider than the staircase that rooms are off this tower? I imagined a tall thin tower somewhat like a steeple. And what is that daily-like white thing on the lower right of the door?

For some reason, this reminds me of the back staircase at Skinner Hall (which was, by the way, not pink).

Nice shot, is it a closet door?

I should revise what I wrote….in plan, the circular stairs and circular interior are in a square exterior …and this is a door the a terrace over the base of the tower.

Was Rapunzel in that tower?
And did she let down her hair?
Wonder if her gown matched that pretty pinky color of the wall?
HEY J!!!
