070116.Salisbury, The Tragic Treasury-6
January 16, 2007 at 12:11 AM | Posted in Architecture, Cathedrals and churches, Light and Shadow, Pilgrimage, Reflection, Salisbury, Sculpture, Supernatural, Vaults, Wiltshire | 18 Comments This abyss, this lightless void
this abyss of world destroyed
this abyss, all deep, all wide
this abyss of being denied
Even in the darkest forest
Fireflies are flickering…but not in
this abyss of black increase
this abyss without surcease
Even in the deepest ocean
is a little moonlight…but not in
this abyss of night unbound;
this abyss without sound
Even in your bedroom shadows
There is something moving…but not in
This abyss, this all-below
This abyss; this death, this “no.”
–”This Abyss”by the Gothic Archies.
Hey, I won’t be checking this very often for a week or two but will get back to everyone after that.

Oooooooooooooooooooo…very very VERY dark and mysterious…hmmmmmmmmm..I s’pose I could GIMP it into existance….but that would take all the fun and mystery out of it!

I’m not the only person who uses GIMP! I love you, Ame.
Is this upside down? I can’t tell what I’m looking at. Which is, yes, “mysterious.”

oy vey, can’t you see this is a diamond shaped reflecting pool/fountain with concave edges and conins at the base? It’s in the nave of a darkened Salisbury Cathedral where it reflects the rib vaulting all the way to the choir? Geeze. What drugs would you need?

Oh . . . I see James already said what it was. I was just guessing.
BTW, James, the lobby atrium thingie at Compuware is not related to the auto show and is a permanent exhibit. Not Chrysler’s logo either. They’re kites, apparently!
Comment by Ruth— January 16, 2007 #
Thanks everyone for guessing with my typos: conins instead of coins.

WOW! I must be lame…thought that was some cool ancient architectural design thingy….see James? You shouldn’t have pointed out your FLAWS! I wouldn’t have known the difference! Now I’m gonna have to second guess you every move! LOL!

meme avec les lunettes infras rouges, je ne vois pas ce que cela represente. Avec le filtre medhi equalizer on peut imaginer le cocon d’un être d’une autre planete.
same with the glasses will infras red, I do not see what that represents. With the filter medhi equalizer one can imagine the cocoon a being of another planet.

No JOKE! And it’s a palindrome too!
Comment by Ame— January 16, 2007 #
If I stare at it, I can almost make out the reflecting pool.
WE ARE ALL ON DRUGS despite Ame’s assertions to the contrary. Silly Ame. Admit it. Poddy can’t hurt you.
I have infrared glasses! Sweet!
Ame- EKOJ is not a palindrome..

no, jc, we were having a scholarly discussion on poop. you remember poop, don’t you? had the cape cod, white picket fence, and orange-grapfruit hybrid tree in the front yard that was large enough for a pony. yeah, his wife left him…and apparently his name is a palindrome too. a least it’s a small comfort in these days of lonliness for him.
Comment by Bath DP Host— January 17, 2007 #
poddy can hurt you jc….just you be careful!!
Comment by podo— January 17, 2007 #
JC, I think you’re RIGHT! We are ALL under SOME kind of influence!
And I think you better be VERY AFRAID of Pod…he’s stepping outside the blogging boundaries here…right James?
Better sick the blog police on him before he gets outta hand and starts talking about batteries or gas stations or something!
TOOT is one tho!
=)))
